It is finished.
Everything is finally over.
The weeks and months of blood, sweat and tears are over.
which explains why I havn't been updating for so long... sorry to disappoint the readers! =X
First and foremost,
The completion of my greatest editing masterpiece ever.
XIONG DI - re: subtitle - "Hock Seng"
A big, huge, gigantic, megalophicus THANK YOU to all who helped in the show one way or another... without you, it would never have been possible to create such a wonderful masterpiece...
haha. I call it masterpiece because till date, no DMC student has ever came close to such a difficult piece of editing work.
ALL DONE IN THREE WEEKS.
first week : pre-production, location recces, strengthening concept
second week : shooting, choreographing, strengthening script
third week : editing and post production
I looove my group to bits and pieces. Its by far the best teamed group in SDFTV according to personalites, abilities and resourcefulness.
Director : Marcus
Screenwriter : Jasmine
Editor : Andrew (me!)
Staging Manager + Logistics : Joshua
Main Actors : Zhi Yang, Jeremy and Ryan
Marcus definately has the making of a leader, with his ability to hold group meetings within hours of notification, maintaining the brainstorming sessions and of course, doing the production schedules.
Jasmine has a distinction for scriptwriting and has a pretty well-read blog.. need i say more?
ME ME! I love editing and post production (full stop). =D
Josh is the perfect staging manager and logistic guy coz he has a CAR!!! He can DRIVE!! and he does our lighting, sound management... wah kao. this guy is like a swiss knife like that seh..
Zhi Yang is the clown.
haha. just kidding. Zhi Yang is reallly the sunshine in the group. Its quite hard to feel depressed or hopeless when he's around to lament about Edmund, fights with Big Booobs Gal and Claire Ng jokes! He's a really great actor too!... Though he cracks ppl up most of the time, when its his turn to act, he really gets into it.... pwah lah!
Ryan is our little obedient boy. He just takes orders and does it. lol. Unlike another group's plight where one person forfeited responsibility...
we had so much help from everywhere, it seemed quite impossible that such a vast number of people could be assembled on such short notice...
=)
you just have to looove Marco.
Week 3 was my killer week. Week 2 and 1 was Jasmine and Marco's killer week.
8 + 8 + 3 + 11 + 8 hours = 38 HOURS.
38 hours in the digital media studio, freezing under the air condition, writing formats while waiting for the scenes to render but loving every moment of it.
plus 8 + 4 + 4 hours = 16 HOURS.
16 hours at home with the pwahbook that wasnt suppose to lag but did. (thanks to my "minor" mistake of having NTSC format instead of DV-PAL format which caused it to render everytime i play something)
Editing and technology is my life. really.
I loved every moment of it. the exhileration and thrill of doing such a history making project.
but the my stress level at that time was WAAAY HIGH.
WAAAAAAY HIGH.
that anybody with a higher level of stress would have long broken and gotten a ticket into mental hospital by now.
the only thing that sustained me on was my love for editing.
the hard work finally paid off... I really doubt that there would be any of my juniors that would be able to imitate such a difficult piece of editing work for the next few years at least.
yupz.
I have ALOT to blog, but this is just one of em.
Happy birthday Haryanto.
The ASH has been ASH for 7 years already. I only hope that it will never fade....
I'm going to look for jobs to do... I really don't want to waste this holiday =)
I'll blog more in another entry
Once again,
Thanks Marcus
Thanks Jasmine
Thanks Josh
Thanks Zhi Yang
Thanks Ryan
Thanks Zul, Haz, Jeremy, Titus, Wei Liang, Sanjay, Marcus cute friend and every other single person who made the film possible.
What is brotherhood.
They were my brothers.
They were my family. =)
